Ongoing throat infections puss spots on throat problems swallowing. Inflammation of bowel and blood in poo. Abdominal pains. Paralysis of legs (from waist down). Bladder difficulties retaining urine requiring catheterisation on occasion. In relation to throat infection attendances at general practitioner (GP) and walk in centre. In relation to leg weakness sent home from school as legs gave way beneath her. Weakness, tingling etc. continued until she woke with no feeling in feet and this gradually spread leaving her paralysed from waist down and with associated bowel and bladder difficulties. Spend 6 months inclusive as an inpatient in hospital. Physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and lots of tests etc. Liver enzymes elevated as evidenced by blood results. Currently awaiting liver scan and just completed 24 hour analysis of urine to consider the extent of liver function. Possibly require paediatric liver unit admission to be considered upon receipt of results. Seek Advice Details: In relation to headaches and joint pain sought assistance from GP and referred to paediatrician. In relation to vitamin D deficiency assisted via blood tests with course of medication. Vitamin D deficiency resolved with medication. Continues to date hospitalised on number of occasions with suspected appendicitis. The initial paperwork from school health advised that the side effect were soreness to injection site and reddening.
