They were included in the study if aged 18 years or above and if they had receive their HPV vaccination within the past three years. Adult women were chosen as a target group as they were believed to be more contemplative and reflective than young girls. On an unknown date, the patient received the first dose of GARDASIL (lot number, expiration date, dose and route were not reported), because she had fear of cancer and she trusted in her physician. The fear of cancer was based on the women''s own risk perception, which could be influenced by their family history of cancer and on an unspecified date in 2012 she received the second dose of GARDASIL (lot number, expiration date, dose and route were not reported). On unknown date, the patient experienced an unspecified side effect from the vaccination with GARDASIL. The time of the side effects was after the first injection and aggravated after the next injection (on an unspecified date in 2012). The patient did not get the last injection, due the side effects she experienced. The authors considered the adverse event was related to GARDASIL.
