Write-up:Information has been received from Sanofi Pasteur MSD (UK-057) on 16-DEC-2016. Information has been received from a female consumer refers to her 14 year old daughter (now 15 year old). On an unknown date, the patient received GARDASIL (dose, route and lot# were not reported). The patient felt her muscles so weak in Autumn 2014 (approximately August 2014) and she was confined to a wheelchair for six months and was being treated at a hospital. The doctor diagnosed her with coeliac disease and later removed her appendix- but nothing helped. The mother reported the patient''s legs were getting weaker and weaker. They would just buckle and give way and in February (year unspecified) she went downhill very rapidly. The patient couldn''t feel them at all and within two weeks they gradually went more and more numb. The patient was in a wheelchair for six months and was having to shuffle up the stairs on her bottom. The patient had dropped four General Certificate of Secondary Educations (GCSEs) because of the illness and had regained strength in her lower body after undergoing rehabilitation, including hydrotherapy. But her family had no idea what caused her condition in the first place and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans showed that indeterminate patches of inflammation remained on her brain. The mother said it had been horrendously awful- it had been life changing. The mother reported patient was on the road to recovery but what was scary was that the family didn''t know what caused it. The outcome of the events was recovering. The reporter called for more testing of the vaccine and urged parents to research it independently. Upon internal review, indeterminate patches of inflammation remain on brain, appendicectomy and coeliac disease were considered as medically significant. Upon internal review, coeliac disease, muscular weakness and numbness in leg were considered as disability. This is one of the three reports from the same source. Additional information has been requested. Sender''s Comments: GB-009507513-1612GBR009687: GB-009507513-1612GBR009685.
