Write-up: Information has been received from Sanofi Pasteur MSD (SPM) MRF- GB-1577272925-2016007340) on 18-JUL-2016. This case was received from MHRA (Ref No. GB-MHRA-ADR 23552225) on 13-JUL-2016. Initial case received from another health professional which concerns a 12-year-old female adolescent patient received GARDASIL (batch number K017930) via intramuscular route on 01-JUL-2016. The patient experienced Joint crepitation on 01-JUL-2016, Hypermobility syndrome on 01-JUL-2016 and Arthralgia on 01-JUL-2016 2 minutes post administration. The patient had a medical history of arthralgia. Additional investigations included Blood test n/a on an unknown date. The patient''s outcome for the events Joints crepitation and hypermobility syndrome was reported as Unknown. The patient''s outcome for the event arthralgia was reported as recovered/resolved with sequel. The overall patient''s outcome was reported as unknown. Within 2 minutes, complained of generalized joint pains affecting right wrist, right knee and left knee. Says unable to move right wrist which then spread to right leg and finally unable to move left leg. Patient was very anxious. Patient said they suffer with pain most of the time. Right arm and right leg recovered spontaneously but still reluctant to move left leg. On examination, fingers seem hypermobile and there was some crepitus of the left knee. Advice given that it is unlikely to be a side effect the immunization in the light of history of pain. Mum contacted and advised to take a general practitioner (GP). Went to see GP that afternoon who said possibly myalgia related side effect of immunization but also querying early onset arthritis. Bloods taken. Contacted mum this morning who said that daughter still complaining of right wrist pain but has gone to school.
