Life Threatening? No
Write-up: This is a spontaneous report from a contactable physician via a Pfizer colleague. A female patient of unspecified age received first dose of TRUMENBA on unknown date, at single dose. Medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. The patient became very short of breath with wheezing about 12-15 hours after vaccination. The patient visited an allergist who felt that while this was a side effect to the vaccine and could reoccur (however did not call it an allergic hypersensitivity reaction). Prior to receiving second dose of TRUMENBA, she was pre-medicated with BENADRYL and provided EPIPEN. The same reaction re-occurred. This time the allergist has recommended to not proceed with further immunizations. He did not feel that skin testing or progressive dilution injections would be beneficial because of the delay in the time of the development of symptoms. Events outcome was unknown. Follow-up (24DEC2015): Follow-up attempts are completed. No further information is expected.
