Write-up: Information has been received from a post-marketing evaluation program concerning a 5 month old female who was vaccinated PO with the first dose of Rotateq. Subsequently 7 days post dose, the patient was brought to the office with complaints of vomiting, diarrhea, poor appetite. The patient was admitted for exploratory laparotomy with reduction of partial volvulus, resection of Meckel''s diverticulum and appendectomy and was hospitalized for 6 days. The patient was discharged on day 6 with a diagnosis of ileocolic intussusception with partial volvulus. Subsequently, the patient recovered. The events were considered to be other important medical events (surgery) by the reporter. Additional information has been requested.
