Write-up: Did not feel well when he woke up on 4/21/16 around 1:pm. This is a 16-year-old boy who suffers from migraine headaches. Yesterday, he did not feel well when he woke up then around 1:00 p.m., he got migraine headaches and pain in the arms at the site of shots. He received the 16 year immunization prior 2 days, he received HPV and meningococcal vaccine then when he returned home, he did not feel like eating, he did not feel that good, but wanted to go to his basketball practice, so he went and then he started to feel even worse. Mother saw him, flushed in face and he was weak, could not even walk. She took him to Emergency Room, he fainted in the parking lot. Then he was in Emergency Room, he got p.o. BENADRYL, 10 and 15 minutes later, he could not breathe, his throat felt swollen and he got some rash on the neck, so he was given epinephrine shot. After that, CT of head was done and was normal and his urine drug screen was normal. CBC and CMP were showing normal and after that, he was admitted to pediatrics for further evaluation and treatment.

Write-up: This case was reported by a other health professional via call center representative and described the occurrence of injection site pain in a 14-year-old female patient who received BEXSERO (batch number 148901A, expiry date September 2016). On 14th April 2016, the patient received the 1st dose of BEXSERO. On 14th April 2016, less than a day after receiving BEXSERO, the patient experienced injection site pain (serious criteria other: serious as per reporter), feeling unwell, general body pain, fever and chills. In April 2016, the outcome of the injection site pain was recovered/resolved. On an unknown date, the outcome of the feeling unwell, general body pain, fever and chills were unknown. It was unknown if the reporter considered the injection site pain, feeling unwell, general body pain, fever and chills to be related to BEXSERO. Additional details provided were as follows: This case was reported by a medical assistant. The reported injection site was right arm. The patient experienced fever, chills, body aches, general ill feeling within 4 hours of vaccination with BEXSERO. She also experienced soreness in her right arm at the injection site for 10 days. The symptoms resulted in an emergency room visit for the patient, but it was unknown if the patient was admitted to the hospital.
