Write-up: This is a spontaneous report from a male pt who on 9/20/99, self-administered his 1st dose of Lymerix. The next day, on 9/21/99, he experienced a low intensity feeling on his inner thighs that "felt like worms moving around inside:. This feeling lasted 1 day. On 10/20/99, the pt self-injected his 2nd dose of Lymerix and again had the "worm-like feeling" and resolved after 1 day. On 11/20/99, the pt self-administered his 3rd dose of Lymerix. The worm-like feeling occurred again and resolved after 1 day. On about 1/12/00, the worm-like feeling came back and was now constant with the intensity going up and down, but never completely going away. At the same time, he began experiencing severe pain in his knees which comes and goes, the same worm-like feeling in his chin which comes and goes (and once lasted for 3 days) and muscle twitches mainly in his left arm which also comes and goes (the last episode being all day on 1/30/00). The pt stated that all the symptoms, except for the severe knee pain are symptoms he experienced when h was dx''d with Lyme disease. Over the past 3 weeks, all symptoms have been getting progressively worse. The most recent information, received on 2/2/00, reports the condition of the pt as ongoing.

Write-up: On approximately 2/25/99 the pt received his first dose of Lymerix. Subsequently, he experienced extreme fatigue and his legs occasionally buckled. In 1999, approximately one year ago, the pt received his second dose of Lymerix. Subsequently, he experienced dizzy spells, muscle and joint pain in the knees and neck. An MD visit was required. Lymerix was discontinued. The most recent information received on 2/25/00 reports the condition of the pt is ongoing.

Write-up: On 1/28/99, the pt received his first injection of Lymerix. with no ill effects. On 2/19/99, the second dose was given and sometime afterward he experienced joint pain and general illness. He was tested for Lyme antibody and was negative. On 1/10/00, the pt received his third injection of Lymerix and one month later on 2/12/00, blood work was performed. An enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to test for Lyme antibody. The ELISA revealed anti - IgK antibodies and no anti - IgG antibodies. This was reported as lack of effect. The previous experience of joint pain and general illness was not reported after the third dose of Lymerix.

Write-up: On 8/9/99, the pt received her first injection of Lymerix with no apparent ill effects. On 5/21/99, the pt received the second dose and sometime thereafter experienced nausea, vomiting, pain and warmth at the injection site. Write-up: At an unspecified time in 1999, the pt received his first injection with Lymerix. A few days later, he experienced a fever and "fluish symptoms", which resolved in 3-4 days. The pt received the second dose of Lymerix at an unspecified time and a few days later had the same symptoms. Also, he experienced joint pain. These symptoms worsened, and the pt had an MRI and nerve conduction testing, the results were not provided. The syptoms were treated with a muscle relaxant, and an anti-inflammatory and a pain medication. The information received on 3/20/00 reports the joint pain is ongoing.
