Write-up: Two hours post vax, the pt developed "every symptom in the product information literature except cold/pneumonia type symptoms." Her symptoms included muscle/joint pain over her whole body, headache, fever and nausea. She took Advil and felt better until that evening when the Advil wore off. She then took a second dose of Advil and obtained relief. Symptoms resolved. Five weeks later, in June, 1999, the pt received the second dose of Lymerix. she was pre medicated with Prednisone and Benadryl and had no problems. Five weeks later, in June 1999, the pt received the 2nd dose of Lymerix. She was premedicated with prednisone and Benadryl and had no problems. The most recent information, received on 11/1/99, reports the condition of the pt is resolved.

Write-up: On September 30, 1999, the pt received the first dose of Lymerix for prevention of Lyme disease with no adverse event. On October 30, 1999, the pt received the second dose of Lymerix. Post vax on 10/30/99, the pt developed a sore injection site and left arm. The left arm was especially sore when touched or when the pt would lie on it. Additionally, she developed a lump at the injection site and a hot round red rash the size of a silver dollar at the injection site. Write-up: In the last week of April, 1999, the pt received her first Lymerix vaccination and sometime, thereafter, she experienced muscle achiness which had a sudden onset on the left side, from her earlobe down to her waist. In late May, 1999, she received the second dose of Lymerix. Treatment included Tylenol and Vioxx and Lymerix was discontinued. Write-up: On May 26, 1999 the pt received her first dose of Lymerix. Seven days later on 6/2/99, the pt had flu-like symptoms and a sore arm which lasted through 6/10/99. From 7/3/99 through 7/4/99 she had an extreme migraine. On 7/5/99 she found that she was bumping into things. On 7/6/99, she found that her perception was off and she had a minor car accident (fender-bender) due to this. There were no injuries. On 7/19/99 the pt had a headache, slurred speech, and was disoriented. On 7/25/99 the pt had a severe migraine so severe she couldn''t talk. She went to the ER where she was given Demerol and sent home. On 8/27/99 she had a brain scan and western blot. The scan was normal, the western blot showed positive for Lyme disease. She was treated wit tetracycline but reacted with an upset stomach, she was switched to Doxycycline. Since 8/99, she continued to be very tired and disoriented. She had body soreness. At times she is so sore she cannot get out of bed. She missed on week of work in July and many other days as well due to adverse events. She cannot drive because she is afraid of being disoriented. Write-up: On an unspecified date the pt received her first dose of Lymerix. The next day she was very sore at the injection site. This event resolved. Several days after receiving dose 2 of Lymerix she experienced hives, itching at the injection site, joint pain, (could not bend her knee) and headaches. No treatment was given.
